Chill Vibes and Cool Reads: What's Happening at Your Library this January!

Dec. 28, 2023

In the blink of an eye, 2023 has zipped by, and our public library has been at the heart of it all! As we fondly recall the stories we’ve shared, books we’ve binged, and the awesome programs we've hosted, we're grateful for the fantastic community we live and work in. Wishing you all a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!

Check out our diverse range of programming for kids in kindergarten to Grade 6. Our Explore! series of STEAM workshops takes place on Saturdays from 1:00-2:30 p.m. and Mondays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Children will dive into science, technology, engineering, art, and math with engaging and challenging experiments. Register now to secure your child’s spot and let the exploration begin!

Embark on a literary adventure for Family Literacy Day on Saturday, January 27, 1:00-2:30 p.m. This special event, themed ‘Get a Clue,’ invites children of all ages and their families to become detectives for the day. Join us for an interactive live game of Clue, where you’ll work together to unravel the mystery of the missing book. Engage in a thrilling quest that combines problem-solving, teamwork, and the joy of reading. Registration is required to secure your spot in this exciting family literacy experience. Join us for an afternoon of intrigue and imagination as we solve the case of the missing book!

Join our ESL Conversation Circle for English language support in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We meet every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Registration is required.

November brought a new face to our library team! Michelle Steinhusen has joined us as Deputy Director. With 16 years of librarian experience and a love for reading, crafting, and D&D, Michelle is excited to contribute to our community. Say hello to Michelle the next time you visit our library!

Did you know we have a drop-in youth volunteer program at the library? Teens in grades 6-12 looking for volunteer hours can join us on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, and we'll put you to work!

As we bid farewell to 2023 and embrace a bright new year, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our patrons and volunteers for their continuous support of the Beaumont Library. We relish being part of the wonderful City of Beaumont and eagerly anticipate sharing our time, resources, and talents with you in the coming year!
